Fleurie Winegrowers' Cooperative

  • In 1927

    The first winegrowers' cooperative in Beaujolais was established. The winegrowers of Fleurie decided to create a cooperative in order to support producers who did not have the necessary premises and materials to produce high-quality wines themselves.

  • In 1932

    Buildings were constructed so that the harvested grapes could be kept in the same place.


  • In 1946

    Mademoiselle Marguerite Chabert became the first female president of a French winegrowers' cooperative. Her character and knowledge made her an iconic figure in both the French and English wine communities.
